Most of the works of the artist Ariel Pérez M. are deeply tied to his Christian faith. This divine inspiration drives him to create scenes like the one we see in this piece. This painting was born without the artist knowing exactly what he wanted to portray. In the middle of the night, he got out of bed, went to his studio, and painted non-stop until dawn.
The artist shares that this was one of the most intense sensations he has ever experienced while creating. Observing that his composition stands out for its ability to capture the interaction between earthly and celestial elements, evoking an almost spiritual connection, he decided to use a biblical text as a reference for the title of the piece:
"But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King." (Matthew 5:34-35)
